The Shallow Invader from Musky Innovations is a great bait, It trolls well, down to about 10ft or so and makes a great crank or twitch bait casting. The only slight problem with it is the way the hooks are arranged on the body. For my taste they are too close together, which means tangles, and there's a lot of bait left at the back without a hook in it! I came up with this simple modification which spreads the hooks , keeps all the action in the tail and slightly improves it's twitching characteristics, as it moves some weight a little further back.

Take a length of 18 gauge stainless wire (the type they sell for making the grip wires in sea fishing weights) Twist a loop in one end round the front hook hanger. Then thread the wire through the back hook hanger and give it a slight bend to make it lie reasonable straight along the body. Twist another loop in the tag end of the wire an inch or so behind the rear hook hanger and attach the hook and split ring to the new loop you've created and go fishing!
