LCIA India welcomes Ajay Thomas and Neeti Sachdeva
Ajay was, until recently, counsel and head of the South Asia desk at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, where he oversaw Indian and South Asian operations. Ajay joined SIAC in 2007, also serving as assistant counsel at the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration. In 2008 he helped SIAC and an umbrella body for the Indian construction industry to establish the Construction Industry Arbitration Council in New Delhi, which provides an Indian form of institutional arbitration. Before joining SIAC, Ajay practised as an advocate at the Chambers of Mr S Venkiteswaran, Senior Advocate. Originally from Goa, he speaks English, Hindi, South Indian language Malayalam and the official language of Goa, Konkani. Neeti joined LCIA India in June, soon after completing a three-month internship at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Neeti has studied in Delhi, The Hague and Stockholm. Before working for Freshfields, she was an intern at the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris and the Indian Council of Arbitration. She has clerked for two justices in the Delhi High Court.
